The Associate of Science degree in Graphic Design Technology prepares students for employment in the graphic design industry. Graduates will have the skills to work in advertising, desktop publishing, Web publishing, electronic photo enhancement, and digital illustration. Visual communications through electronic and print reproduction methods are emphasized. Students develop technical and creative skills with layout, illustration, typography, digital graphics and photography, page layout, prepress, and Web design. Skills are developed on a computer production environment using current industry standard software. The graphic design fields offer growing opportunities for both self-employed individuals and employees of graphics businesses.

Students earning an A.S. degree must complete MAC 1105  or MGF 1106  or a higher level mathematics course.

A college credit certificate in Graphic Design Production may be awarded upon completion of ART 1201C , CGS 1572 , GRA 1103C , GRA 1117C , GRA 1206C , PGY 2801C GRA 2203C  and GRA 2151C . See Professor Fran Rossi for further information about the certificate program within Graphic Arts.

 GRA 1103C - Graphic Design Basics  and GRA 1117C - Introduction to Computer Graphics  are offered fall semester only and are prerequisites for GRA 1206C , GRA 2151C , and GRA 2181C .
