HIM 2723 - ICD-10-PCS Coding 3 credits Prerequisite(s): HSC 2531 , BSC 2086 , BSC 2086L and HIM 1433 with a grade of C or better. This course addresses the use of the International Classification of Diseases Procedure Coding system (ICD10 PCS) to report procedures done in hospitals. This includes coding conventions, sequencing, and rules for correct coding. This course prepares students to assign ICD10 PCS codes supported by medical documentation with entry level proficiency.
