Genevieve “Gigi” Register - 2018 Alumnus of the Year, Associate of Arts
The 2018 Florida Gateway College Alumnus of the year, Genevieve, “Gigi” Register. Gigi graduated from Lake City Community College, now Florida Gateway College, in 1991 with her Associate of Arts degree and then her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Florida State University in 1993.
Ms. Register is the Senior Commercial and Retail lending executive for First Federal Bank of Florida. As Senior Vice President, Gigi works in the North Florida Region handling commercial loan requests, managing the non-core lending line of business and functions as the consumer product and sales liaison for the bank. She has been a local banker since 1995 and has been with First Federal for the last 13 years.
Gigi has been very active in our community serving as treasurer for CARC-Advocates for Citizens with Disabilities. She has been an active member of the Lake City Altrusa club since 1998 and is currently serving on the board of directors as 2nd Vice President. She is a current member and former ambassador of the Lake City Columbia County Chamber of Commerce. Gigi serves as librarian for the Edward Rutledge Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. And she serves as a member of the Shands Lake Shore Hospital Regional Medical Center advisory board. She is also active in the ministries of First United Methodist Church
Gigi and her husband Troy are Lake City natives and have 2 children-Witt who is 20, and Callahan who is 17. Witt is a December 2017 graduate of Florida Gateway College and is now pursuing an undergraduate degree from St. Leo University. Callahan is currently enrolled at FGC while a student at Columbia High School.
