Child Care Professional
The core for the following certificate, offered through the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Design and Business, is the 9 credit hour, Personal Enrichment enrollment option, Child Care Professional (CCP). This core consists of three courses which focus on eight areas of competency regarding the care of young children, such as health and safety, professionalism, child care center management and promoting the cognitive, emotional, social and physical development of young children. Upon completion of this program, with a passing grade of C or better, students are eligible to apply for the Florida Staff Credential. Students will earn 9 college credits towards the Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education. This program is for students who are already working or volunteering in an early childhood classroom, and the students must have at least 480 hours of classroom experience prior to admittance to the program, in addition to a GED or high school diploma. During the CCP program, students are formally observed and evaluated in their classroom settings. The CCP program may be completed in one semester. Classes are scheduled online and in the evenings to accommodate students who work in the classroom during the weekdays. CCP Core Courses: 9 Credit Hours

Early Childhood Certificates
To be eligible for these certificates a student must meet: Admissions Requirements: - have a high school diploma or GED certificate,
- take the college placement test, ACT, or SAT. Insufficient scores will mean the student must take appropriate remedial courses and student success.
Students will earn 12 college credits towards the Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education. These 12 hours cannot be a combination of 12 Personal Enrichment hours; they must be declared as a major in the degree or certificate seeking process. Infant and Toddlers Specialization

This program is offered through the Center for Excellence in Teaching, Design and Business. The purpose of this program is to prepare students as early childhood education caregivers with an infant/toddler specialization or to provide supplementary training for persons previously or currently employed in these occupations. The content includes, but is not limited to, growth and development, early childhood education; establishing and maintaining a safe, clean, healthy, learning environment; guidance techniques and classroom management; communication; identification of child abuse and neglect; implementation of rules and regulations; nutrition; family interaction; legal and professional responsibilities; and employability skills. Programs prepare individuals to assume major caregiving and educational responsibilities within home or center-based programs for infant/toddlers.
