A student wishing to transfer to an upper division university should be enrolled in courses leading to the Associate in Arts degree (A.A.). Florida Gateway College offers a wide range of preprofessional courses designed to prepare students to transfer to upper division universities.
To graduate with an A.A. degree, students must complete 36 credit hours of general education coursework and 24 credit hours of electives. Additionally, students must complete at least one state core course from each of the five general education subject areas (Communications, Mathematics, Natural Sciences, Social and Behavioral Sciences, and Humanities).
