The Health Information Technology program is an Associate in Science degree designed to prepare the graduate to work with and manage health-related information in a variety of settings. Health Information Technicians collect, organize and analyze data used in the healthcare profession. Most technicians working in Health Information Technology, also known as HIT professionals, work in healthcare facilities, but some work for insurance companies and government agencies, compiling data used for analysis and research. Students must attain a minimum grade of C in all required courses. The following is a suggested sequence for the required courses: General Education and Other Required Courses: 20 Credit Hours
First Semester: 12 Credit Hours
Second Semester: 12 Credit Hours
First Semester: 13 Credit Hours
Second Semester: 13 Credit Hours
