Personal Enrichment Program

(9 credit hours)


Child Care Professional (CCP) is the 9-credit hour, Personal Enrichment enrollment option. This core consists of three courses which focus on eight areas of competency regarding the care of young children, such as health and safety, professionalism, child guidance and promoting the cognitive, emotional, social and physical development of young children. Upon completion of this program, with a passing grade of C or better in each course, students are eligible for the Florida Staff Credential through the Department of Child and Family Services. Students will earn 9 college credits towards the Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education.

This program is for students who are already working or volunteering in an early childhood classroom.  During the CCP program, students are formally observed and evaluated in their classroom settings.  The CCP program may be completed in one semester.  Classes are scheduled online.  

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Students will demonstrate their understanding of developmentally appropriate practices for children ages birth - 5 years.  

Admission Requirements

  • The students must have at least 480 hours of Early Childhood classroom experience prior to admittance to the program.
  • A GED® or high school diploma.

Program Note:


Students will earn 9 college credits towards the Associate of Science in Early Childhood Education.
