EEX 2010 - Intro to Exceptional Child Education

Requirements Met: AATR
Prerequisite(s): MAT 0028 , ENC 0025 , and REA 0017  with a grade of C or better, or test out of prerequisites, or exempt from developmental education.                    

 
This introductory course is designed to familiarize pre-service and in-service teachers with issues related to the instruction of students with special needs. Pre-service and in-service teachers will learn the history of special education (to include litigation and legislation) as well as an overview of exceptionalities. Pre-service and in-service teachers will also learn about assistive technologies for the classroom.
