MAT 0028 - Elementary Algebra 3 credits Prerequisite(s): MAT 0018 with a C or better, PERT score of 96-112 (tested prior to 10/22/13); 96-113 (tested 10/22/13 and after), or appropriate college entrance test score. Corequisite(s): SLS 1105 The purpose of this course is to develop the student’s proficiency in elementary algebra. Study includes operations on real numbers, solving linear equations and inequalities in one variable, operations on polynomials, including factoring, integer exponents, radicals, graphing techniques, and applications. Successful completion of this course will prepare the student for instruction in MAT 1033 , Intermediate Algebra. Lab fee.
