3 credits | Offered: Fall Prerequisite(s):HSC 2531, BSC 2084C or BSC 2085 , BSC 2085L , BSC 2086 , and BSC 2086L , and HIM 1433 with a grade of C or better. Required Grade: Pass with a C or better. The principles of disease nomenclatures (system of names used in an art or science) and classifications (grouping), with an emphasis on official coding guidelines, will be covered in this basic medical coding course. The student will code and sequence diagnostic and procedure codes using the ICD-10-CM coding classification system.
