The Associate of Science degree in Graphic Design Technology prepares students for employment in the graphic design industry. Graduates will have the skills to work in advertising, desktop publishing, Web publishing, electronic photo enhancement, and digital illustration. Visual communications through electronic and print reproduction methods are emphasized. Students develop technical and creative skills with layout, illustration, typography, digital graphics and photography, page layout, prepress, and Web design. Skills are developed on a computer production environment using current industry standard software.

*A college credit certificate in Graphic Design Production may be awarded upon completion of ART 1201C , CGS 1572 , GRA 1103C , GRA 1117C , GRA 1206C , PGY 2801C GRA 2203C  and GRA 2151C . See Professor Fran Rossi for further information about the certificate program within Graphic Arts.

The following is a suggested sequence of required courses:

Graphic Design Technology A.S. Total 64 Credit Hours


 GRA 1103C - Graphic Design Basics  and GRA 1117C - Introduction to Computer Graphics  are offered fall semester only and are prerequisites for GRA 1206C , GRA 2151C , GRA 2181C  and GRA 2203C .
