PMT 0070C - Welding I 210 clock hours, 7 occupational credits (2 lecture occupational credit hours, 5 lab occupational credit hours) After successful completion of this course, students will be able to demonstrate understanding of workplace safety and organizational skills, demonstrate basic knowledge of industrial and manufacturing processes, describe and identify metals and their properties, apply basic and intermediate oxyfuel gas cutting principles and practices, apply knowledge of drawing and welding symbol interpretation, demonstrate plasma arc cutting principles and practices, demonstrate basic understanding of shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), and lastly, create a product using shielded metal arc welding (SMAW) principles and practices. Lab fee.
