HIM 2282 - Systems of Classification 3 credits | Offered: Fall
Pre/Corequisite(s): HSC 2531 with a C or better.
The principles of disease nomenclatures (system of names used in an art or science) and classifications (grouping), with an emphasis on official coding guidelines, will be covered in this basic medical coding course. The student will code and sequence diagnostic and procedure codes using the ICD-9/10-CM coding classification system.
