Required Grade: Pass with a C or better
This course introduces the student to the clinical skills required to function as a physical therapist assistant. Emphasis is on patient care, environmental safety, turning and positioning, draping, bed mobility, transfers, wheelchair management, vital signs, fitting/application of assistive and adaptive devices, gait and stair training with assistive devices, body mechanics, sterile technique, and clinical documentation.
