NUR 2412C - LPN-RN Transition: Maternal, Infant, Child, Adolescent 8 credits Prerequisite(s): NUR 2241C or NUR 2243C with a grade of C or better. This course emphasizes a broad, in-depth application of the nursing process as an approach to assisting women, children, and families in meeting their advanced reproductive needs in a variety of settings. The roles of the nurse as a provider of care, communicator, teacher, manager and member of the profession provide the framework for clinical application and evaluation. Study includes advanced study of reproduction, pregnancy, with an emphasis on labor and delivery and complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Growth of children from birth through adolescence is covered, with emphasis on response to disease and other stress conditions. Lab fee.
