RED 4044 - Foundations and Applications of Language and ReadingCollege Credits: 3 This course provides theoretical and practical applications of all reading components including language structure and function and cognition of phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. Instruction is grounded in scientifically-based reading research as a mechanism to inform instructional practice. Topics will include strategies used to develop student literacy in populations with a variety of intervention needs. This course is aligned with competencies 1 and 2 of the Florida Reading Endorsement.
