WFTX 0047 - Welding Fundamentals Prerequisite(s): Be at least 18 years old, have all required PPE, and are currently employed in the welding industry as a welder, welder’s helper, fitter, or tack welder. The Welding Fundamentals course offers training to prepare students to become skilled welders. This course will be geared toward those individuals already working within the industry and not seeking to attend a full training program, who are seeking a workforce opportunity to expand their skills. The total hours in training for this course will be 225 Continuing Workforce Education hours. Students will be taught techniques for plate welding which include Oxyfuel Cutting, SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, or GTAW. The course prepares students to meet industry standards in structural welding. Seating is limited and students will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis.
