AML 2600 - Introduction to African-American Literature 3 credits Requirements Met: AATR, GE, GR General Education Area: Group 2 Humanities Prerequisite(s): ENC 1101 with a grade of C or better. This survey course introduces students to major voices in African-American Literature, covering the periods from American colonization to the present. Students will study slave narratives and antislavery texts, the Harlem Renaissance, the Black Arts Movement, and contemporary Black literature in order to form a complete understanding of the intersection between race and writing in America.
